I am going to begin transitioning my site to Stripe and stop using PayPal Payout.
I activated the plugin, selected Stripe Connect in Allowed Payment Methods, and filled in my API key details etc.. I did not click to activate Enable Stripe Marketplace because I only want to onboard Vendor accounts at this time, while still using PayPal only.
However, just by having it enabled now no customers can checkout.
There are some issues with the items in your cart. Please go back to the cart page and resolve these issues before checking out.
And in cart:
You have products belonging to more than one vendor in your cart who might be facing some technical issues. Contact the admin for more details.
How can I prevent these errors during the transition?
That can’t happen instantly though. Ok, it looks like changing temporarily to “Separate Charges and Transfers” fixes the problem. This enables vendors to sign up for Stripe and link their accounts, while making sure the site continues to function with PayPal.
It is still strange that this error would take place before I even enabled the payment option though.
