Stripe and commission payout frustrations Open
November 14, 2019 at 9:33 pm #79331
I am having issues and I hope that this forum can help me sort this out as documentation isn’t good where ever I look.
1. I have a WooCommerce Marketplace where people have stores on the platform.
2. I want to take Stripe payments and have the funds dispersed as quickly as possible to the store as follows:
a) I take a 3% commission paid out to my Stripe account
b) The Store receives the balance less the Stripe processing fees.
I purchased the YITH WooCommerce Stripe Connect plugin to use with Stripe Connect to achieve this. After much frustration, I have found our that this plugin doesn’t send the correct calls to Stripe for Direct Charges – it sends for Destination Charges which isn’t what I want accomplished.
I need help with how to setup the above with the easiest process and lowest costs. I will be asking YITH for a refund as it isn’t providing the value that I want. Also – if I look at the WCMP plugin, it doesn’t tell which Charge model it supports either.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Reef4sale, thanks for reaching WCMp support.
It seems like Yith WooCommerce Stripe plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/yith-woocommerce-stripe/ ) is not compatible with our core plugin, WC Marketplace.
Now, using our addon WCMp Stripe Marketplace ( https://wc-marketplace.com/product/wcmp-stripe-marketplace ) you can use a stripe connect option. You can also use this plugin and set up direct charges or destination charges as per your choice too.
You can also test the flow in our demo site at this link – https://wcmpdemos.com/all-in-one-demo/my-account/
Let us know if you have any further query.

I have reviewed your documentation and it doesn’t explain how to setup this up explicitly for Direct Charges – there is great detail on the features by not the functionality to achieve this. Please provide detailed step by step instructions.

I’ve been testing the WCMp Stripe add on with Direct charges, and I tested it with the same Yith plugin. It definitely did not work with the Yith plugin at all. The WCMp plugin works with direct charges, but it only adds a credit card input form to the checkout. I submitted a request here to be make it more customer friendly by using Stripe checkout and saving credit card numbers.

Hi there, I just checked out this thread and after looking at the screenshot provided in reply#79412, I see that I do not have the same dashboard. Can someone tell me why? I am missing all the connect account type info.

I can confirm that the WCMP plugin works with Direct payouts. YITH refunded me and I do have say that I am disappointed in the level of documentation on both platforms for what is a very crucial distinction in recipes for payouts. My ask is that this gets updated so that users can move forward quickly rather than getting frustrated and spending hours on tickets and troubleshooting. Additional documentation should include how to setup both the Plugin (in detail) and Stripe itself to effectively set this up quickly and without ambiguity.

Hi @ violethuez, this section (see the screenshot – https://prnt.sc/pzg2bx ) i.e.“Stripe Connect Account Type” gets added by our add on, WCMp Stripe Marketplace (https://wc-marketplace.com/product/wcmp-stripe-marketplace/ ). If you are using this plugin, then vendor will get paid instantly from the checkout page. Hence they no longer needs to wait for their payment.
@Reef4sale, Thanks for your input. We will update the documentation quickly. Thanks for your input. We will update the documentation quickly.

@susmita OK. What happens if you don’t have this add on? will it still work correctly? Is there a way to choose within Stripe which version to use? (ie standard/express etc.?) And what if I just have the woocommerce stripe? Is that sufficient? Where would I read up on this documentation? I am working on setting up my stripe now, and was confused as I couldn’t find where to choose some of these options.

Hi violethuez, thanks again for reaching WCMp support.
Our replies are inline –
– What happens if you don’t have this add on? will it still work correctly?
>> If you don’t use WCMp Stripe Marketplace, then the vendor needs to wait for their payment as per pur schedule (i.e. hourly / Monthly etc)
WCMp Maretplace ensure that the vendor will be paid instatly from the checkout page.
— Is there a way to choose within Stripe which version to use? (ie standard/express etc.?)
>> WCMp Stripe Marketplace provides admin the option to select their preffered account type : https://prnt.sc/pzzvfl
– And what if I just have the woocommerce stripe? Is that sufficient?
>> You can use WooCommerce Stripe. This plugin send admin the whole money paid by the customer. Then WCMp will send vendor their commission as per the schedule.
– Where would I read up on this documentation?
>> We also have our documentation, you just need to follow them to set up WCMp stripe – https://wc-marketplace.com/knowledgebase/marketplace-stripe-gateway/
Let us know, if you have any further queries.

HI, thanks for the breakdown, that was helpful. One thing though. Your image for this question: Is there a way to choose within Stripe which version to use? (ie standard/express etc.?)
Shows how to do it with the additional plugin. What if I don’t have that plugin? Is there another way to choose?
