I’m trying to figure out how to price a marketplace.
Let’s say one buyer purchases (1) unique $25.00 product from 4 different vendors (4 Products A,B,C,D from 4 Vendors A,B,C,D) = $100 total order.
Paypal charges 2.9% + .30 in the U.S.
Who pays the PayPal fee? For example:
1) Admin pays the full cost = $3.20 for the full order
2) Automatically divided among the 4 vendors = $0.80 per vendor
3) Each vendor pays 2.9% +.30 for each product they sell = $25 x 2.9% (.725) + .30 = $1.025 per vendor
As per our flow, all the payment goes to admin only. Then Admin should pay to all the vendors. So in our current flow, all the PayPal commission comes from the marketplace owner only.
Means, this case – 1) Admin pays the full cost = $3.20 for the full order
But in our future release, we will implement this feature – “Payment gateway charges”. Where Admin can define the percentage of each payment gateway. And this cost will be deducted from all the stakeholders as per their proportion.
